“Not a breach of law”

This is what a high placed Democratic Party of Virginia official told me recently. It was in response to my complaint about a serious ethical breach in the selection of candidates.

Whether something is against the law or not should not be our complete moral compass. After all, plenty of things are against the law and plenty of people ignore the law every day for their own self-informed reasons.

Ethics is something that is hard to prove, but once broken, can never be put back. Ask any criminal politician. And while you are at it, ask someone you know about what the hell is going on with The Democratic Party of Virginia.

You know who you are. Don’t pretend you don’t.
